In this open-concept Montreal condo, the layout was crucial: how to create a welcoming master bedroom without sacrificing the fluidity and brightness of the living space?

The solution came from the Limuro team, who designed a custom wall bed in natural walnut, a sculptural piece of furniture that redefines the boundaries of the room without ever restricting them.

In an open-plan condo, every inch of space is precious. Limuro has therefore designed an innovative solution: rather than installing partitions, they have integrated the bedroom directly into the living space.

When closed, the bed looks like an elegant and timeless piece of storage furniture, adorned with built-in shelves.

Once opened, it reveals a comfortable and enveloping queen-size bed, transforming the living room into a true master bedroom.

This approach avoids dividing the room and preserves the flow of traffic and natural light.

The installation occupies an entire wall, from floor to ceiling, and immediately becomes the focal point of the living room. Its warm, rich wood grain, matching headboard, sliding shelves that convert into bedside tables, integrated LED lighting, and discreet charging station combine luxury design with modern functionality.

Walnut wood brings warmth and depth to the furniture. Its distinctive grain and natural hues are reminiscent of mid-century modern aesthetics, where fine woods played a central role, reinterpreted here in a contemporary spirit.

By using wood as the primary material, Limuro’s designers have given the collection a high-end feel that goes beyond mere functionality. The furniture becomes interior architecture, an element that structures and dresses the room with sophistication.

The integration of the cabinetry up to the ceiling shows particular attention to proportions. This vertical arrangement maximizes storage space and highlights the height of the ceilings. Open shelves on either side reinforce the overall effect and provide space for storing books and decorative items.

The finishes bring out the full potential of customization. For example, there are elongated black steel handles that are subtle yet refined. Surprisingly, the sliding shelves transform into nightstands in the evening, then disappear with a single gesture in the morning.

This built-in bed has been designed to suit modern living. A charging port for mobile devices is discreetly installed to facilitate charging. In addition, LED lighting concealed in the ceiling casts a soft glow over the bed area, enhancing convenience and overall comfort while maintaining the clean, minimalist aesthetic.

The true luxury of this project lies in its ability to transform space. During the day, the room opens into a bright and versatile living space. In the evening, it transforms into a master bedroom, where wood creates a warm atmosphere.

This fluidity perfectly embodies the spirit of contemporary design in an urban context: it is not just a question of furnishing, but of organizing everyday life in often limited spaces. In this project, the wall bed stands out as a thoughtful choice, a built-in piece of furniture that maximizes the room while enhancing its aesthetics.

With this project located in a condo in Montreal, Limuro demonstrates that wall beds can be much more than just a space-saving solution: they can become an architectural signature.
